Falconet’s player Okpe welcomes FIFA U20 world cup postponement to 2021

Nigeria’s U20 and Rivers Angels player Blessing Okpe has welcomed the postponement of the FIFA U20 women world cup which was initially slated for August/September 2020 to next year after world football governing body FIFA announced a new date of January 20th – 6th February 2021 on Tuesday 12th of May 2020.

Okpe speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the postponement is good and a necessary one considering the safety of players and she believes this will also help teams have more time to prepare having lost a lot of preparation time already due to the Covid-19 induced break.
“It’s very interesting because we cannot risk our lives and without life, we can’t play, so for them to postpone they know the reason why they postpone the world cup but it is to our own benefits as well and for our own good as players so that we will be able to keep more fitness, so get more prepared ahead of the world cup.
