Zira says league football shouldn’t return in Nigeria any time soon

Chairman of Nigeria Women Premier League side Adamawa Queens Emmanuel Zira has taken a strong stand against the possible return of league football any time soon in Nigeria with the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic which has halted all sporting activities globally as well for a long period.

Zira speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the talk about the possible return of league football in Nigeria will be immature and not good enough for now or any time soon not until there is an all clear that it is safe to host such.
He added that any plan to have the league return any time soon will be insensitive on the part of the organisers of the league.
“We must put sentiment aside and look at the life of our budding talents, the life of our football administrator, the life of our referees, the life of our match commissioners, we cannot begin to put people’s lives at risk. We don’t have the kind of healthcare facilities that those countries have and even at that those countries are not playing.”
