The Lagos State government has said that it has fixed September 21, 2020, for the resumption of Primary and Secondary schools in the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made the announcement on Saturday and also directed that tertiary institutions in the state resume on September 14.

Both public and private schools have been shut for over five months as a precautionary measure due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The governor however said the dates are subject to review.

“This position is not to cast in stone and subject to a review of our ongoing monitoring and procedures from the ministry of health.

“Remember that we said that the virus will peak and we will flatten the curve in the month of August. From what we have seen, it appears we have flattened the curve. In the last two weeks, we have continued to see a drop in the positivity that we have encountered in the state.”

Schools across the country were partially opened on August 4, as directed by the federal government to enable candidates to sit for the West African Senior School examinations.
