Police present N48 million cheques to families of deceased personnel in Delta

 

The Inspector -General of Police Mr kayode Egbetokun has presented cheques worth of
N47,827,529 to families of deceased officers.
During the presentation of the cheques at his office in Asaba, Delta State, Commissioner of Police Abaniwonda Olufemi on behalf of the IGP reiterates that the welfare of both serving and late officers was part of the primary interest of the IGP.
CP Abaniwonda Olufemi presented the cheques of the N47,827,529 to 22 families of deceased officers who died while in active service.
According to Delta State Police Public Relations officer (PPRO),”The cheques issued to the next of kin of seven deceased officers. The cheques issued on behalf of the IGP are part of the IGP Family Welfare Scheme, Group Life Assurance, and Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes.”The CP who was assisted by Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration ,Mr. Tokunbo Afolabi, while presenting the cheques noted that the welfare of both serving and late officers is part of the interest of the IGP , and it’s on his behalf that these cheques were presented to them. He also appreciated the gesture of the IGP as the cheques will in no small way act as a boost to the families and also a way of letting them know that though their loved ones are no more, the Force has not forgotten their sacrifices.
” One of the beneficiaries thanked the IGP for his magnanimity, noting that the money given to them will be used judiciously”.
