Kenneth Omeruo captained CD Leganes in their pre-season goalless draw against Albacete on Saturday.
The CB featured for Seventy-three minutes in his fourth pre-season friendly, the most minutes he has played in the off season for the team.
Omeruo, 28, has one more season left on his current deal at the Spanish Segunda Liga side and could extend his deal.
A new deal will keep the player in the Spanish capital as long as his deal at Chelsea, although he did not play a competitive game for the Premier League side.
Ahead of the new season though, Kenneth Omeruo will be hoping to inspire CD Leganes’ charge for LaLiga promotion at the end of the season.
The team’s new season kick off with a home game against Alaves, but they play one more friendly, against Alcorcon on August 3.
