Sunday Dare Hailed For Success In Sports As Club Owners Association Pays Minister Courtesy Visit

In line with the latest development in football in Nigeria, The Nigeria Premier League Clubs Association has paid a courtesy call to the Honorable Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare at the MKO Abiola International Stadium Abuja.

The association which is chaired by Barrister Isaac Danladi commended the minister for the work he is doing in the sports sector and also for the football master plan initiative.

“We commend you for the recent success in the world Athletics Championship and the recently concluded Common Wealth Games. We are delighted that all these achievement happened having you as the minister of youth and sports. You are a blessing to this country. History will continue to bear you witness. We also want to congratulate you on the conclusion and presentation of the ten year football development plan. It’s also heartwarming that the twenty premier league club are members of the congress of the Nigerian Football Federation”.

The minister commended the readiness of the club owners to be part of the development of football, the league in particular.

According to Sunday Dare, about 90 percent of the Premier League clubs are owned by state governments. The Minister again futher stressed that about 50 percent of the master plan dwells on how to have a domestic league worth it’s name and he has pledged the full support of the Federal Government to make sure that these clubs are also able to meet the need of the fans.
