Abdul Maikaba targets ‘Double’ next season with Plateau United

New Plateau United Technical adviser Abdu Maikaba, Says his first hurdle is to win the 2019 NPFL title with Plateau United after putting pen to paper three – year contract with the 2017 champions.

 

The Nigeria Flying Eagles assistant Coach takes over from Kennedy Boboye , who quit the club last week after the expiration of his contract with the last season CAF Champions League campaigners.

He said , “ The first challenge is to reclaim that trophy . The second challenge is to make sure we win the other trophy, which is the Aiteo Cup.

It was confirmed that no team can win the two trophies , so we are here to do the double. ”

 

Maikaba. Praised the Club’s management for his appointment and promised to do his best to justify the confidence they have in him .

 

Meanwhile, General Manager of the club Pius Henwan, revealed the management decided to in the direction of Maikaba over available candidates because the success he achieved at his previous jobs .

 

“ We believe that he can deliver the league title and more for the club, ” he said.

 

“ We saw the success he recorded at his former club Akwa United , where he led them to win the Aiteo Cup in 2017 . We hope he will achieve the same feats with Plateau United . ”

 

Maikaba who reportedly will earn a whopping amount of #52m in two years for his new job led Akwa to win the AITEO Cup win in 2017 .

 

He also qualified Wikki Tourists of Bauchi for the 2016 CAF Champions League.
