Abdulrahman urge NBBF against segregation of coaches in the national team

Former assistant coach of Nigeria’s D’Tigers Mohammed Abdulrahman has urged the Nigeria Basketball Federation against segregation and marginalization of local coaches ahead of any international assignment with the engagement of American NBA coach Mike Brown citing a previous personal experience as a basis for his submission.

Abdulrahman speaking in a chat with Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid the effort of the local coaches shouldn’t be jettisoned by whatever reason and urge that the engagement of the foreign coach shouldn’t be at the expense of the contribution of what local coaches will bring to the team.

“With the new coach that they sign now this NBA coach Mike Brown knowing that all NBA coaches travel with their own assistants, we may also be excluded as local coaches from the whole coaching process.

“I had a personal experience the last time Nigeria went for the Olympics. The ministry said they can only sponsor three coaches and the Federation took just the three foreign coaches that are part of the program and dropped the local coaches. “
