AFN send invites for National Open trials

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has sent invites to athletes and coaches for its National Open Trials for the 12th All African Games scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco this year.

The trials would take place at the Mainbowl of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja from June 24th to 27th.

In a letter signed by the Secretary General of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Elijah Adamu to States, Clubs, Institutions, the Military, and Para-Military, it read: “You are to forward entries of your eligible athletes to [email protected] or reach out to the Athletics body on or before midnight of 21st June, 2019.

“Payment of affiliation fees for 2019 is one of the conditions for participation in this National Open Trials. Therefore all interested are advised to settle all outstanding arrears.”

Meanwhile, Making of Champions Track Club will be organising its second edition of the MOC Grand Prix at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos this weekend.

More than 200 athletes have already indicated their interest to compete at the Grand Prix, which will feature 28 Track and Field events.

Nigerian athletes are expected to use this competition as an opportunity to qualify for the forthcoming African Games and even the World Championships in Doha.

The likes of Enoch Adegoke, Queen Obisesan, Orukpe Erayokan and Emmanuel Arowolo have already registered for the competition.
