Former assistant coach of the Super Eagles and former goalkeeper trainer of the national team, Joe Erico(Jogobonito) has called on more new players to be introduced to the national team, but that they should come from the league.
Speaking ahead of next month’s international friendly against Ukraine, the Jogobonito exponent also added that infusing home-based players into the Eagles would encourage others to work harder in order to make the national team.
“New players can come in now because they are here and there. One million and one of them so you cannot just depend on the old ones regularly”.
“If the young ones come in and fight for a shirt, there is nothing wrong with that, but that is how it is supposed to be anyways”.
“A reasonable coach should be able to try as much as possible to infuse the home-based players to encourage them to work harder and to do more and giving them an opportunity. I think it’s very important the coach should look inwards too”.
