Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has criticized the playing surface of the Stade Linité after Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Seychelles in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Musa led the Eagles charge on Saturday with a superb shot from range, that came off the back of Seychelles goalkeeper Dave Mussard.
Nigeria doubled their lead through Chidozie Awaziem, before Odion Ighalo converted from the penalty spot to wrap up the victory.
However, despite the easy win, Musa revealed the Eagles tired out because of the playing surface.
The Stade Linité has an artificial turf, but it was in a poor state.
Speaking in the post-match presser Musa said,’The most important thing was to collect the three points at stake.
‘We started strongly but we grew tired in the second half on the artificial pitch which was difficult. We are pleased to have won our first points in this group.’
