Ahmedu accepts defeat in good faith

Coach of Nigeria Premier basketball league side Dolphins Peter Ahmedu has admitted defeats in good faith after his side got knocked out at the semi-final stage of the National Final 8 of the women Premier basketball league.

Ahmedu who until his team’s defeat stood as the defending coach having won the title in the last three seasons with former club First Bank accepted that it was a day of upset losing with his new club against MFM Queens on a day his former club also got knocked out surprisingly.
“The two teams that qualified to the final are good teams. It was full of a bunch of veteran players in each team so it was eventually the better sides that won so let’s give it to them. First Bank should have won their game because they had their lead till about 58 seconds to end the match.
“And for my team against MFM, we won at both the group games and they now beat us at the crucial time that matters, so I give it to them.”
Dolphins will now settle for a third-place game against First Bank while Air Warriors will face surprise package MFM Queens in today’s final.
