Akwuegbu wants good relationship between NFF and ex-internationals

Former Super Eagles forward Benedict Akwuegbu has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to tap from the experience of the country’s ex-internationals.

Akwuegbu believes Nigeria is blessed with very good ex-internationals who are blessed with good knowledge of the game who can contribute immensely to the growth of the round leather game in the country.

The former Grazer AK prolific forward however called for a total unity between the administrators, the former players, and other stakeholders for the betterment of the country.

He also opined that the Amaju Pinnick led NFF board should give ex-internationals with best qualifications chance to work within the football system.

“Pinnick should bring all ex-internationals together and lets everyone work towards the development of Nigeria Football.”

“We know that the NFF is trying their best, there is no perfect human but this is the time for everyone to put differences aside and work together,” he told www.brila.net.

“NFF should give everyone equal chances to everyone to prove themselves and possibly pick the best to work for the country.

” We must forget all our differences, we have retired and grown up and now we must work together in unity if we can do this we do this, you will see the success coming naturally,” he concluded.

Akwuegbu played for Nigeria from the U17 to the Super Eagles level, he played his first senior tournament for Nigeria in  2000 African cup of Nations.

He was involved in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers and also captained the team in their 3-0 win over Harambe stars of Kenya in Lagos.

His performance in Austria earned him a place in the 2002 World Cup Final squad and he played the only World Cup game against England.
