Coach of Nigeria’s U23 national team Imama Amapakabo has revealed that the Nigeria U23 national team did a thorough work on Zambia U23 national team a d delighted things worked out as planned against their opponent.
Amapakabo speaking in a chat gathered by www.brila.net said it was indeed a product of hard work and the stark reality of the need to get a win to keep the U23 Eagles in the competition after having lost its opening group stage match against CIV.
“We prepared for this game, we planned for this game we knew that only victory keeps us in this competition and technically my defender made a mistake very early in the game.
“I think we got lucky there, they were not able to convert and I think the goal they scored was also from a counter which we had worked on and prepared for and as a coach I knew that we had made a tactical blunder in letting them counter us like that.”
