Amoo blames lack of league action for Eagles 4-1 loss in Lome

NPFL veteran coach and former U23 national team assistant coach Fatal Amoo has blamed the home-based Super Eagles lackluster showing in Togo largely to the lack of league action.

Amoo speaking in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid the non-commencement of the league in Nigeria meant players are not AF their optimum and doesn’t give the team any form of advantage that could have been gotten had the players all been filly active and in top shape by now.
He added that even friendly matches won’t give the team the full complement of what competitive action would have offered the team.
“Whether we like it or not the league is part of it, it’s not that we can’t lose but scandalously the league that is not on has not given us any advantage instead a disadvantage to the players because no matter how you may want to put it, even friendly matches cannot be compared to real competitive matches.”
