Former Tanzania coach has submitted that the Super Eagles had a good campaign at the just concluded AFCON in Egypt and is backing the team to build further in a bid to compete for the title next time.

Amunike told brila.net in an exclusive interview after the arrival of the team from Egypt over the weekend where he highlighted key points on how the team can grow further and compete favourably next time.

‘Our duty is to see how we can develop our football, how we can say that our players, regardless of their individual talents have the mind, capacity to develop the game in a tactical concept ”.

The former African footballer of the year noted that the Super Eagles have a young squad, however, believes the team can be built on the third-place finish and progress into a team that can compete in a subsequent competition.

‘We have young players it’s true, but in football now, it’s not all about being young and old but about the capacity of your players to be able to do what is needful of them.” Amunike concluded.
