Amunike offers advice to Imama-led Olympic Eagles

Former Tanzania Emmanuel Amunike has provided tips to Imama Amakapabo, the coach of the present U23 Olympic Eagles coach after losing their Olympics qualifiers first leg fixture in Sudan a few days ago.

Amunike said the U23 side should attack and also defend because the Sudanese side will come with a lot of heat and pressure in the second tie match.
The former Barcelona forward told Cornerstonenewsng.comin an exclusive interview recalled how the Nigerian side curtailed the Sudanese side in the first leg, according to him, the Sudanese can come with a lot of pressure to make sure they frustrate them but they should do the markings and ensure they attack and also drag back to defend, he emphasized.
”We should be in a position to defend and also attack because I could remember the U20 against this set of Sudanese side when I coached the U20 side, these teams come with a lot of pressure but the good thing was that, we were able to contain the pressure and at the end of the day, we won the game by 2-1, he said.
”Every game is totally different with different history and different challenges, the ability of a player to be in a position to be able to withstand the pressure the Sudanese will come up with matters. ”
”But of course, whether we like it or not, Nigeria is Nigeria, our players have to believe that they have the capacity to make the country proud. ”
Amunike who personally urged Imama to give his best shot tomorrow said he believes in the ability of what he can do and also wish him well like a brother that he is always be.
”The Person coaching the team (the U23 Olympics eagles team), is a brother and I pray God should give him the objective to guide Nigeria and the wisdom to qualify for the Olympics, ‘he concluded.
