Andy Ruiz sends warning to Anthony Joshua ahead of heavyweight clash

Andy Ruiz will square up against Anthony Joshua as the former aim to retain his IBO, WBA, IBF and WBO world titles in a heavyweight rematch slated for December 7 in Saudi Arabia.

Ruiz sprung up a surprise in June when he dropped Anthony Joshua four times before the fight at Madison Square Gardens was stopped in the seventh round.

The 30-year old Ruiz inflicted a first professional defeat on Joshua and he has warned AJ that he will be “lighter, faster and more powerful” for his heavyweight rematch billed for Saudi Arabia later this year.

“I will arrive in better condition…. lighter, faster and more powerful,” said Ruiz

” They will believe that in December they will win.

“People will always talk like this, but I have faith that we’re going to win and shut up more mouths.

“I have a lot of respect for Anthony, outside the ring he is a very good man. But inside [the ring] there are no friends, there is no respect or anything.

He then continued by saying his opponent should expect another hard fight and that he is in an even better shape than he was last time.

”It will not be an easy fight. I think it will be a hard fight, but nothing is easy in life, so we are training very hard. We will be prepared for whatever he brings.”

Ruiz has been invited to compete at next summer’s Olympics in Tokyo after the rule on professionals was relaxed.
