Another bad day in the Office for Akpeyi in first start for Kaizer Chiefs since March

Daniel Akpeyi returned to Kaizer Chiefs’ starting XI since March 2nd against Highlands Park in the PSL, but the goalkeeper was again breached and his wait for a clean sheet continues.

Amakhosi netted early, inside the first 11 minutes, through Madagascar’s Andrianarimanana Aro, but the visitors couldn’t protect their lead and were pegged back 12 minutes later.

Akpeyi who was making only his fourth appearance for the Club, has now conceded five goals in four matches; and alluded his clean sheet.

The Nigeria international who is the 10th most valuable foreign player in the PSL, was solid for the most part of the game, keeping the home side at bay.

However he was beaten by a perfectly placed header to the far corner of his post, although his positioning could have been better.

Meanwhile, one point on the road on Saturday leaves Ernst Middendorp’s men seven points off third placed Bidvest Wits; with four games left to play in the season.
