At 36! Enyeama is undergoing trials at Dijon, could make Ligue 1 return

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama is set to undergo trials with French Ligue 1 side Dijon FCO, according to reports from France.

The former Nigeria captain is yearning to return to competitive football since leaving Lille by mutual consent in August last year after former manager Marcelo Bielsa told the 36-year-old to look for another club.

Enyeama was part of the Nigeria squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations coached by the Late Stephen Keshi.

In a deal that failed to materialize, he was linked with French Ligue 2 side AJ Auxerre shortly after his departure from Les Dogues.

The former Maccabi Tel Aviv goaltender has been inactive for more than a year following his injury in April 2018 and has remained silent about his next move.

He was tipped to make a final return to the Super Eagles squad before the recently concluded 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Enyeama was the first player to win the French Ligue 1 African Player of the Season after delivering a stellar performance in the 2013/2014 season.

In October 2015, the two-time CAF Champions League winner announced his retirement from international football.
