Austin Eguavoen Appointed As Technical Director in Slovenia

Former Super Eagles coach, Austin Eguavoen has been appointed by Slovenian second division side NK Drava Dakinda as their new Technical Director.

The 53-year-old until his appointment as coach of fourth division club, Zakynthos FC, in Greece.

NK Drava Dakinda have in their ranks three Nigerian players: Temitope Nelson, Mathias Fanimo and Simon Oduh.

Eguavoen is one of the ex-players of the 1994 Super Eagles to have managed a team outside Nigeria, after the late Stephen Keshi, Sunday Oliseh, Daniel Amokachi and Emmanuel Amuneke.

He previously managed Sliema Wanderers, Bendel Insurance, Black Leopards, Enyimba, COD United, Sharks FC, Gombe United and Sunshine Stars.

He has 49 caps for Nigeria, featuring for the Super Eagles at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups in USA and France.
