Nigeria and Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi has revealed his disappointment after missing out on Coach Gernot Rohr’s AFCON Squad despite having a good season at his Club.
Awoniyi told brila.net in an exclusive chat that he gave his best at his club and was expectant of a National team call up but was disappointed not to make the cut.
”Actually for me, as a player, you will be sad when you give your best in your club and you didn’t get the National team invite ahead of a major tournament.
The Liverpool forward is, however, wishing the Super Eagles good luck at the AFCON tournament in Egypt.
