Nigerian international, Azubuike Okechukwu is confident that he is good enough to break into the Super Eagles and will continue to push for it.
Azubuike who plies his trade with Turkish Super Lig side Istanbul Baseksheir is one of the most consistent Nigerian players in Europe this season before the Covid19 outbreak.
While the 23 year old has been consistent with the Turkish side, he’s been limited to only one cap with the Super Eagles in 2016.
However, the former national U-23 captain said in an Instagram session with Nigerian journalist Andrew Rander that he has a lot to contribute into the team, and deserves to be given a chance to fight for a slot.
“Honestly, I know the Super Eagles team is full of talented players and breaking in will be difficult, but then with God, all things are possible to get a call up”, the 23 year old said.
“The truth is if I get an opportunity for a call up, I’ll make a statement. I’m very sure of this and I hope this call up happens very soon”, the Instanbul Basaksehir midfielder who is on loan from Pyramids FC concluded.
Azubuike was member of Nigeria’s 2016 Olympic team that won bronze medal at the Rio games in Brazil and was the captain of the Dream Team VII that failed to qualify for next year’s Tokyo Olympic games.
