Bribery: Speak up ‘Immediately’ OR Shut Up,’ Finidi tells Nigerian players

Former Super Eagles forward George Finidi has urged Nigerian footballers to speak up on bribery issues immediately before they accept to play or keep shut.

The former Real Betis winger told www.Cornerstonenewsng.comexclusively that, it is very absurd for a player to have waited for more than five to eight years of his career before talking about such allegations.
Finidi, who won the 1995 UEFA Champions League with Ajax Amsterdam believes that some of the players bringing up the allegations are a part of the problem.
“For a player to say, I gave money for coaches to play me, they also are part of the problem, in the first place why should they bribe somebody to come to the national team?
He also feels that players should learn to speak up without any fear whenever anyone requests for a bribe to play for the National team.
“These players should have opened up ever since they claimed it happened, coming out after eight years or thereabout to say they are asked to pay before given the chance to play for the super eagles is absurd.
“Why didn’t you speak up since? come out openly to say a coach asked me to pay, why were they scared?
