Equatorial Guinea women team has been disqualified from the Total Women’s Cup of Nations 2018 following an appeal by Kenya after fielding ineligible players in their qualification tie.
Kenya appealed against Equatorial Guinea, having fielded a Cameroonian; Anette Jacky Messomo, in the final round of the AWCON 2018 qualifiers which Harambee Starlets lost 3-2 on aggregate.
Apart from disqualification, Equatorial Guinea have also been fined $10,000.
