Liverpool’s African contingent went full swing on Tuesday night as they inspired the Reds to a healthy 3-1 lead against Benfica in the first leg Quarter final of the UEFA Champions League.
Sadio Mane (34′) doubled Liverpool’s lead after French man Ibrahima Konate put the 2019 champions ahead.
The hosts halved the lead after the restart, but Jurgen Klopp’s men were not going to ease the grip.
They piled on the pressure and further tightened their hold on the game after Naby Keita set up Luiz Diaz for the final blow.
It was familiar grounds for the former FC Porto man and his goal secured a comfortable win for the English side.
The return leg is on the 13th April at Anfield and Klopp will be hoping for more of the same.
