CIES rates Moses Simon ahead of Osimhen, Messi and Ronaldo

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon was Nigeria’s best performing player across Europe’s top five leagues in the month of September according to The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES).

Simon, who is on loan at Ligue Un side Nantes, out-performed Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Tammy Abraham based on CIES data.

CIES Football Observatory stated it applies a unique approach to “rate players on a match-by-match basis by taking into account the pitch production and efficiency at both individual and collective level (methodology).”

In September, Moses Simon made four league appearances for Nantes; the club lost just one game.

The Winger was scored a 82.0 rating and came up 101 in the same bracket as Barcelona duo Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet, in a pool of 1051 players.

Meanwhile, with a 81.0 rating Victor Osimhen was the second best performer (129), Wilfred Ndidi came in third (205) with a score of 78.8. Alex Iwobi was rated 1035 with a score of 58.3.
