Cyriel Dessers put the speculations about his future behind him and delivered a man of the match performance for Genk in their league clash with Standard Liege on Sunday.
Dessers scored a brace and assisted another goal as Genk defeated Standard Liege 3-1 in their second league game.
The Forward now has three goals and one assist in two league games for the Wouter Vrancken’s side this season.
Asked about his future after the game, Dessers admits he’s enjoying his football at Genk, but he is not ruling out seeking better deal abroad.
“I’m really enjoying myself here, with this team and this trainer, who makes a great impression on me.
“But yes, I am 27 years old, I still have two years on my contract. Maybe now is the time to take the step abroad. Although I don’t decide on that alone.”
Dessers has been linked with Cremonese, Feyenoord and Copenhagen in recent weeks, but interested parties will first have to find a financial agreement with Genk.
