Three suspected daredevil members of gang of robbers who attacked and robbed the Divisional Police officer InCharge of Alausa Police Station have been arrested.
The female DPO, CSP Tokunbo Aanandaa’d her team, were on sting operation at Otedola Bridge, Alausa, Ikeja, when suddenly the three-man-amed- robbery gang surfaced from their crime hideout and attacked her DPO with cutlass and other dangerous weapons.
According to a senior police officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the robbers did not stop at attacking the DPO, but robbed her of her Samsung S 22 phone and took to their heels.
The senior police officer said that after committing the dastardly act of the attempted murder on the DPO, the hoodlums ran to Ogun State where they continued with their normal business of robbery.
Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundeyin in a statement on Tuesday, said on April 9, 2024, at about 11pm, while on sting operation to Otedola Bridge, Alausa, Ikeja. three gang of armed robbers surfaced and suddenly attacked her with cutlass and other dangerous weapons, and after the dastardly act, the hoodlums ran away to unknown destination.

Upon receipt of the information, the anti- crime team of the division then move swiftly to the hotel where the ringleader, Tochuckwu Nonso, 29( a.k.a Thug life) in company with one Chidera Christopher,25, were arrested and immediately brought down to the station for further investigation with the exhibits found on them.
“During the investigation it was revealed that the suspects forcefully snatched the Samsung S22 phone from the DPO and then macheted her on the back again before escaping.
“While further effort led to the arrest of one Richard Etim, 25, in different part of the state”.
Hundeyin, however, said the ringleader of the gang had been robbing on Otedola Bridge for over five years, but changing his gangs every now and then avoid arrest.
He said the suspects would soon be charged to Court.
