Dauda laments unfortunate injury that zeroed out his 2014 world cup chances

Panetolikos of Greece and Nigerian striker Abiola Dauda has lamented the unfortunate injury that ruled him out of the reckoning for what could have been a world cup slot back in 2014 when he was contacted by then Super Eagles coach Late Stephen Keshi.

Dauda speaking in a chat with Cornerstonenewsng.comrevealed that he has had few contacts before then but a productive season at Red Star Belgrade got him a look in from the former Super Eagles coach and everything looked when in place to have him join the squad before the injury knocked him off and he said he wished he had the chance then which could have changed his career route.

“Regards the national team I had my chances,’ he told brila.net.

“I had previous times that they tried to invite me when I was my in Kalmar when I was in Red star, the closest I came was when Keshi was alive may his soul rest in peace when I was at Red star and that was the closest I was before I got injured and that actually damaged my chances.

“I wish I could have played.”
