According to the World Sports Encyclopaedia (2003), there are 8,000 indigenous sports and sporting games. There cannot be these many sports without a need for regulation and the practice of sports law.
Sports law practice is gaining prominence in Nigeria and across the world in general. Thus, there is a need for adequate preparation of interested individuals for this burgeoning area.
