Athletics Federation of Nigeria Technical Director, Sunday Adeleye has assured fans the Country’s Athletes will deliver glory at the IAAF World Championship, starting Friday in Doha.
Adeleye, a former sprinter himself, made this known in an exclusive interview with Cornerstonenewsng.comupon the team’s departure to Doha on Wednesday.
The AFN Director stated the Athletes that will represent the Country are the “best crop produced in a while”.
“It is the first time in a long time in the 100m men since the time of Olapade and the Ezenwa brothers that we have three Nigerians starting in the same event,” He reiterated.
He acknowledged that preparation had been top notch, and that the 25-man contingent – comprising 10 male and 15 female athletes – is eager to prove themselves to the watching world, just as they surprised everyone at the African Games in Morocco.
