Former assistant coach of Nigeria’s D’Tigers Abdulrahman Mohammed has stated that Nigeria’s world cup participation is on the verge of coming to an end after the team’s 94-81 defeat to Argentina.
Mohammed speaking in a chat with Cornerstonenewsng.comafter the game said Nigeria’s hope now rests on South Korea beating Russia to open the group as anything else will automatically knock Nigeria out of the reckoning for group stage qualification which will only qualify just two of the four countries in the group.
“I understand two teams will qualify from the group, so the only saving grace now is if Korea beat Russia which is going to be a miracle and then we rally to beat South Korea in the final group game for D’Tigers.
And it’s not likely South Korea will beat Russia. So our chances is very slim probably not even there.”
