D’Tigress respects OQT opening opponent Mozambique – Ahmedu

Assistant coach of Nigeria’s women basketball national team Peter Ahmedu has stated that Nigeria’s D’Tigress respects her Olympic qualifying tournament’s opening opponent Mozambique despite having enjoyed a number of wins against the Mozambicans as recent as back to back victories at the women Afrobasket last year and the pre OQT  hosted by Mozambique.
Ahmedu speaking in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comahead of today’s clash said Mozambique poses a more difficult challenge now more than ever because it will be tough to continue to beat a team that have been beaten back to back before.
“Everybody look at Mozambique as a horse for us to ride on but I tell everybody that when you’re beating a team once, twice, three times it’s just like taking a horse to stream but you can’t force it to drink water.
So what I want Nigerians to know we shouldn’t look down on Mozambique. They have been in camp for over 4 weeks, they have been to Europe. They have acclimatized. They also know the importance of this Olympic qualifiers. So we are not going g to look down on them and I don’t want Nigerians to think that Mozambique is a walk over team.”
Nigeria will take on Mozambique by 5pm today Thursday.
