Eguma relieved to end Sunshine star’s hoodoo

Rivers united manager Stanley Eguma has revealed his excitement at finally ending the hoodoo of failing to beat Sunshine stars which date back to 2016 before last Sunday’s 2-1 win in Port Harcourt over the Akure Gunners and relishes the team’s next game away to Adamawa united.
Eguma speaking in a chat gathered by www.Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid it was a worrisome record that needed to be broken which has cost them many times before now.
He added that now that the jinx has been broken, Sunshine stars will henceforth continue to lose games in Porthacourt.
“They’ve been very lucky anytime they come to Port Harcourt in the past few years. But this time around we resolved that we are going to beat them by working hard, and we did that.
Even when they scored the first goal, it didn’t deter us, it didn’t demoralize us, the players came back to the game equalized and went ahead to get the second goal. Henceforth Sunshine will fall in Porthacourt.”
