Ekong’s Udinese stunned at home by relegation threatened Lecce

William Troost-Ekong was in action for Udinese in their Italian Serie A league clash with Lecce on Wednesday.

The Nigeria international returned from suspension to feature in the game but he was on the losing side as Lecce stunned Udinese 2-1 at the Dacia Arena stadium in Udine.

 

Marco Mancosu equalized for Lecce from the penalty spot, shortly after Samir had given Udinese the lead in the 36th minutes of the game.

 

The away side completed the comeback Gianluca Lapadula scored the winner with nine minutes left to play from the 90.

 

The defeat left Udinese 14th on the table with 42 points but they sitter seven points above the relegation zone with a game left to play.

 

Ekong has now featured in 29 of Udinese’s 37 league games this season.
