Former Nigeria international Friday Ekpo has stated that to build a more formidable home based Eagles team, it is now expedient to look beyond just the topflight league alone as the NNL can also be a good hunting ground to shop for talent.
Ekpo speaking in a chat with brila.net after Nigeria’s CHAN 2020 qualification ouster said having the right blend of domestic players will be all that is needed which they enjoyed in his days as a footballer.
“We should be looking at the way forward and again we always tend to use the league players in the league, I feel we can go beyond that. What happen to NNL players.
“Don’t we have up and coming players in this areas? must we all the time go to premier league teams to take players? These were the benefits which we enjoyed coming up.”
