Elkanemi’s Olawale says club suddenly hoping for Premier league survival – mourns Ogbeide’s demise

El kanemi warriors midfielder Isiaka Olawale has stated that the Maiduguri based side are suddenly in a fight to preserve their Premier League status after another home defeat stretched their winless run to 6 games and have failed to win any of their last three home fixtures as well.

Olawale speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said it is so sad that a once-promising season has suddenly nosedived to the point that the club have gotten themselves now on the brink of relegation from the top flight.
The former Lobi stars skipper also mourned the passing of his former coach Solomon Ogbeide who slumped and died on Monday morning.
“When I heard the story, I felt so sad. I was so surprised, he was my coach when I was in Lobi stars and the news of his death came as a shock to me. I had a good time with him at Lobi stars.
“And concerning Elkanemi we started well at the beginning of the season where we oscillated between the top 3 positions. Suddenly we are now thinking of how to survive relegation. This is the first time since I got to Elkanemi that we are losing back to back home games.”
Elkanemi warrior’s last league game is away to Heartland who will escape the drop themselves with a win against the Maiduguri based side with a win in Owerri.
