Ese Brume, Chioma Onyekwere Land Gold For Nigeria In Long Jump And Discuss

Team Nigeria’s added another gold medals in field events, as Ese Brume and Chioma Onyekwere won gold medal in Long Jump and discuss event at the ongoing 12th edition of the African Games in Morocco.

Ese Brume leaped 6.69m to claim the events gold medal and narrowly missed on the opportunity to equal Janice Josephs’ African Games Record of 6.70m.

 

 

Chioma Onyekwere on her part, clinched the gold in the women’s Discus, after a throw of 59.91m on her 5th attempt to secure the victory.

 

She clinched the gold ahead of Yolandi Stander of South Africa, who threw 57.75 to win silver and Senekal Ischke of South Africa on 53.95.

 

In track event , Rosemary Chukwuma will be competing in the 200m final after clocking 23.67s to finish 4th and picked one of the fastest losers spots.

 

In the male category,  Divine Oduduru and Ogho Egwero will be representing Nigeria in the men’s 200m finals billed for Friday.

 

Oduduru qualified for the final after  a return time of 20.45s (fastest in the competition) in the semifinal.

 

Egwero also won his semis in a time of 20.76s, while Emmanuel Arowolo clocked 21.01s to finish 4th, and miss out in the final.
