Former boyfriend to Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Col.Hammed Ibrahim Ali(rtd) new wife has demanded N9 million from her as a settlement on what he spent on her during courtship or he would seek redress from the Court.
Mr. Zainab Abdulahi Yahaya, had alleged that he was a fiance to the Customs boss new wife, Subaru Dalhatu, who allegedly promised him marriage, but later abandoned him for Ali.
Aggrieved Yahaya, who spoke through his lawyer, Sir I.I Wangida of Buba Partners, Kwarchi Chambers, Kano, alleged that Zubairu betrayed him after spending a lot of money on her.
His lawyer, Wangida stated in a petition made available to Cornerstone news that:” Zainab Abdulahi Yahaya, ex-boyfriend to Zubairu Dalhatu Malami of Kano Municipal, Kano State, briefed and disclose to us that for over three years, you have been in a relationship with our client where he has invested so much in your life, future and business when you consistently promised to marry him, even though you knew deep down your heart you were deceiving our client, but you allowed him all these years to consistently spend money and resources on you while he was in the belief that he was doing that to his future wife.
” Be that as it may, we have our client’s brief that you have decided to pick another man for yourself as husband and while our client congratulates you in your new home, we have our client’s instructions to also disclose his displeasure over your reaction a few days ago before your new marriage by taking an unnecessary fight with him thereby insulting him and calling him all sorts names and you claimed that he calculates all you have collected from him both in loan investment and trip tickets, so you can pay as you are no longer in his life affairs.
” In view of the above, we have our client’s instructions to demand from you and we are hereby demand from you the immediate payment of the sum of N9,081,207.45, failure to heed to same shall leave us with no other option than to proceed with legal action to recover the said sum. Your choice in this matter is our preference “
Sir Wangida who enumerated how the said money was spent said he was waiting for a favourable response from Mrs. Ali.
