An ex-convict, Adeniyi Ajayi, 27, re-arrested by the Police for rape and robbery has pleaded with the Police to take his life instead of sending him back to the Correctional Centre.
Ajayi who the police alleged that has raped over 40 female victims including five lawyers, begged passionately that he should be killed or else he would do more havoc when he comes out from the incarceration the second time.
The suspect who spoke on the police parade ground in Ikeja, Lagos, yesterday, begged the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, to give the order for his execution, saying,” sir, give your boys order to waste me instead of charging me to the Court. I was in the prisons and when I came out from the prisons, I swore never to go back to crime, but when I came out, I begged my people and friends to help me set up a business, but nobody assisted and that was why I went back to robbery. I made up my mind that I must kill myself anytime I would be arrested.
” I swear with everything in heaven and on earth, I deserve to die and I am ready to die now. Please, take my life. I just want the police to waste me because I don’t have anything good to give back to society. I don’t want the police to send me back to the correctional center. It was my stay in the correctional center that made me hardened. It was in the correctional center that I became a worse and a real criminal. I only stole a phone when I was sent to the correctional center, but when I got there, the inmates told me to go into big-time robbery whenever I regained my freedom. I am evil and nothing good will come out from me.
“ If I had gotten someone to help me when I regained freedom 10 months ago, I wouldn’t have followed their advice. But I didn’t have anyone to help me, so I went into armed robbery. I go to houses to rob.
“ I fear that if I go back to correctional center, the inmates will still poison me the more. It is obvious I cannot be of any good to the society. I will continue to cause trouble for the police, so they should just kill me. Yes, I am dangerous as the police told you. I am a formidable one-man squad. I go for robbery alone. I used to rob a large compound and still enjoy my female victims even when their husbands were around.

” There is no magic, just that people are cowards and easily fall to my antics. I am Ajayi, alias Ogologo; when I visit a compound, I would force the door open, point touch lightly on any person on sight and pretend as if we were many. I would just be calling names, like Musa be on at alert, Jonh move to the left side and Wasiu shoot anyone who wants to disturb us, so the occupants of the house would assume that we were many and surrendered to me.
I remember a certain scenario when I tied a man with a rope and I slept with his wife and daughter in his presence. I have raped six ladies and they believed that we were many. This is the reason that the police should take my life because if I am sent to the correctional center again and I come out, this country will regret it. Sometimes when I remember how people, especially men act cowardly, I used to laugh. I would be sleeping with someone’s wife and daughters and he would be watching me. Shame on cowards”.
Speaking on how the suspect was arrested, Odumosu said he had robbed some female and male staff of a company on June 16.
He said one of the phones Ajayi stole was tracked by operatives of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and he was arrested in a hotel at the Ijora Badia area of the state.
He said: “ Some female staff and male staff of a particular company reported at Sabo Police Station that while on duty at the company, Ajayi forcefully gained entrance into the Company building. The suspect claimed to be in company with other members of his gang outside the premises, but he was alone.
“ He tied the hands and legs of the staff and robbed them of their four phones, two laptops, and ATM cards. He sexually harassed the female staff.
“ The stolen phones were recovered from him. It was revealed that the suspect operated alone. He was recently released from prison custody. He equally confessed to a series of robbery and rape he single-handedly committed around Sabo and its environs.
“ In the cause of investigation, more than eight female survivors affirmed that the suspect, in the recent time robbed and raped them, even in the presence of their husbands and other family members.”
The CP maintained the suspect would be charged to Court soon.
