Falcons can reach World Cup Semifinals – Oshoala

Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala says Nigeria can reach the semi-final of the Senior Women‘s World Cup in France but admits the team must improve if they are to achieve such feat.

The Super Falcons confirmed their dominance on the continent of Africa, winning her 9th AWCON title at just concluded Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana but making impact at a global stage has been their shortcomings.

Oshoala who has a difficult outing at 11th edition of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana is banking on the foreign based professionals to help the with their experience and exposure at the mundial.

” I know is going to be tough at the World Cup but one good thing is that most of the players we are going to meet at the world stage are our team mates at club level and with prayers we will get to the semi final.

 

We (Super Falcons) have experienced players and playing outside Nigeria has equally improved our games”.

The Dalaian Quanjian forward added that she was shocked to be omitted from CAF best 11 at the AWCON in Ghana, but admits she must work hard if she’s to achieve her aim of winning the FIFA best player award.

I was also shocked that I was not listed for the best Africa eleven of the tournament. I need to work harder because my target is to win Fifa women footballer of the year,said Oshoala
