MFM Queens lost back to back games in the FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women against Inter Clube and Sporting, but have progressed to the quarter-final where they’ll next face Al Ahly SC.
Due to the withdraw of several teams before the Championship got underway, no team in either Group A or B was eliminated after the group stage games.
The Queens won only one of their three group games and picked up four points after their 42-63 defeat to Sporting.
On Wednesday, Coach Aderemi Adewunmi will hope his team ends the rut and pull a stunner to reach the semis.
Their quarter-final opponent, Al Ahly SC, finished second in group B behind Ferroviario Maputo. The latter have D’Tigress Guard Sarah Ogoke on their roster.
