The technical crew of the national U-17 women’s football team, Flamingos are set to decamp no fewer than 12 players who have failed to impress so as to make space for other good players to try their luck ahead of team selection for the national team.
The teams who are currently camped in Abuja will jostle for shirts ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup African qualifier first round first leg match between Nigeria and Guinea billed for March 1, in Conakry.
To get the best leg, players who did not measure up to standard will be sent back to their clubs today, February 12, 2020.
It is expected that Coach Abimbola Olowookere will invite new set of players who will not only help Nigeria to defeat Guinea home and away but go all the way to pick the World Cup ticket.
Meanwhile, the Flamingos had recently played a test game and defeated Mees Football Academy Abuja 3-2 at FIFA Goal Project pitch Abuja last Saturday and have continued their two training sessions everyday in a bid to maximize their preparation timeline left.
Nigeria was bundled out by Cameroon in the second round of the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup edition in Uruguay hence the need for the country which has not missed any edition but the last is preparing well to confront Guinea.
