Flying Eagles coach Aigbogun downplays friendly defeat to Saudi Arabia U20

Coach of Nigeria’s U20 national team Paul Aigbogun has downplayed the result of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles 2-1 friendly defeat to their Saudi Arabia counterpart yesterday in Vienna Austria ahead of both nations participation at the fast approaching FIFA U20 world cup in Poland.

Aigbogun speaking after the game told www.brila.net that result of games at this stage is not the main thing but rather the opportunity to give room for all players to have a chance to express themselves and try out many options before the U20 world cup.
He added that the game yesterday had a mixed outcome with a better second half showing compared to the slow start in the first half of the game.
“We tried some other players who hadn’t combine and play together and we didn’t start so well but the second half we dominated completely but conceded two cheap goals which is so very unlike us.
The main thing is that we had to look at players and try out many systems just to see which will work or not. The result is always nice if we win but that isn’t the most important thing for now.”
Nigeria’s U20 national team are housed in the same group at the U20 world cup alongside Qatar, Ukraine, and USA at the FIFA U20 world cup in Poland.
