Footballer found alive four years after being declared dead in a car accident

Former Schalke 04 defender Hiannick Kamba has been spotted alive four years after he was declared dead in a car accident.

Kamba reportedly died back in 2016, following a terrible accident that occurred while on a visit to his native country Congo, but it has now appeared that the story of his death is false.

Following the death reports from Congo, his former club side VfB Huls, issued a statement that the defender has passed but Kamba has now been spotted alive in Gelsenkirchen, Germany where he’s working as a Chemical Technician.

However, appropriate authorities are looking at potential fraud in the case after his ex-wife reportedly cash out his life insurance.

Prosecutor Anette Milk told reporters that the former wife of the defender would be charged for collecting millions of Euros as life payment.

It is also understood that the ex-wife of the footballer forged some documents that allowed her to claim the money when she realized she’s eligible for it.

“The accused is accused of fraud, but she denies the fact. The proceedings are still ongoing,” Milk told Bild. “[Kamba] stated that his companions had left him during the night while on a trip to the interior of the Congo in January 2016 and they took his papers, money, and telephone.”

Meanwhile, Kamba was allowed to return to Germany in 2018 thanks to his youth connections with Schalke and he has reportedly settled back in Gelsenkirchen.

He was part of Schalke’s youth side that also had German number goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, but his career never really flourished.

Kamba tried to resurrect his career by joining other clubs, but things didn’t work for him and later left the game unceremoniously.

He’s now 33 but spent his entire senior career playing in Germany’s lower leagues.
