Former Falcons captain, Evelyn Nwabuoku’s inspiring comeback story

At the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroon, Super Falcons Midfielder, Evelyn Nwabuoku was ruled out with a knee injury.

After regaining fitness, Evelyn faced a big task of proving to Head coach, Thomas Dennerby that she belonged in the squad.

She missed out of the 48-player provisional squad ahead of the 2018 Women’s AFCON in Ghana, as Thomas Dennerby did not see her as a prospect in his super falcons’ team.

Despite all these challenges, following a successful Wafu women’s cup outing, luck finally smiled on her as she got invited and made the final 23-player squad for France 2019.

The former captain led the home-based players to clinch the WAFU B Women’s Cup in May.

EVELYN Nwabuoku EXCITED BY THE FEAT wrote on her twitter handle ‘I feel so blessed to be back in the national team.

I’m absolutely ready and excited to soar with the @NGSuper_Falcons at the #FIFAWWC in France’
