A yet-to-be-identified man, who was traveling with his family in a private car, has been shot dead by kidnappers in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Sources in the area said the assailants attacked the family and killed the unnamed man while his wife and daughter were abducted.
The sad incident reportedly happened on Sunday, along Afa/Egede Road in Udi local government area.
As of the time of this report, there was no official statement from the authorities or any demand for ransom from the kidnappers.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Enugu State, Daniel Ndukwe, who confirmed the incident, said efforts were on to arrest the gunmen and rescue the two victims.
“Manhunt of the armed men and rescue of the two reportedly abducted victims are ongoing. Further development will be communicated, please,” he said.
