High Flying Onyekuru reveals his Greatest Fear as a Footballer

Henry Onyekuru is still traumatized from the injury he sustained prior the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the player has told Brila.net.

Onyekuru was sidelined for several months with a knee injury that also cost him a place in the Super Eagles squad for the World Cup.

Many months after that saga, the player told Brila FM’s Yinka Oyedele that the experience was was mentally excruciating and it remains his “greatest fear” as a footballer.

The winger on loan to Galatasaray from Everton has made 8 appearances for the Turkish side in the Super Lig this season and has two goals to his name.

He revealed his objective at this time to do well enough in Turkey to help his return to Everton and possibly join the Toffees in the new season.

Onyekuru, who has also played some part in Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, is equally focused on keeping himself fit for the national team.

Nigeria is a win away from booking a spot at next year’s tournament in Cameroon and the petite wing man says he’s excited about the prospects of representing the Country at a major tournament.
