‘I am not tired of playing’ for Eagles – Mikel

Nigeria Captain, John Mikel Obi has declared that he’s not planning to retire from National team without making an official statement to inform the public.

Mikel has not featured for the Super Eagles since after the World Cup in Russia where the team suffered a last minute first round elimination in the hands of Argentina.

The Tianjin Teda midfielder has not played a minute in the Super Eagles 2019 AFCON qualifiers campaign, having missed all the five qualifier games so far, but he has dismissed the reports that he’s tired of the National Team.

”I cannot retire, because l am not tired,”

 

“I think if you have been doing something for a very long time, you will definitely ask for a little break.

 

“That’s what I have been on, I have been on break. I am not tired yet. The day I will retire, I will let everyone know before I make the statement.”.

Meanwhile, Mikel launched a football foundation which will discover young talents that has interest in the game in Nigeria
